The Karnataka government has dissolved the Nagamohan Das Commission, which was rigorously investigating corruption allegations against the BJP government from 2019–23, before its term was completed.

The Congress government in Karnataka had formed a commission to investigate corruption allegations against the BJP government from 2019 to 2023, but it has been dissolved before completing its term. The commission had requested an extension of its term until September 30, but the government reportedly did not consider this request.The commission was responsible for investigating the 40% commission allegations and corruption charges related to works under the BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) during the BJP regime. The government withdrew vehicles and staff provided to the commission starting Tuesday evening. The commission, which investigated irregularities in Bengaluru’s projects, submitted a comprehensive 8,900-page investigation report to the government on August 30. However, the government abruptly withdrew all facilities provided to the commission.Reacting to the government’s move, opposition leader R. Ashok criticized it, likening it to “kicking away the ladder after climbing it.” He accused the government of devaluing the commission’s work after its completion, stating that the government lacks funds and is bankrupt.
