Mangaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has intensified its investigation into the Dharmasthala mass burial case in Karnataka’s Dharmasthala village. As part of the probe, the SIT summoned two ambulance drivers from Belthangady for questioning. Following the explosive testimony of the prime accused, Chinnayya, who claimed to have buried 183 bodies, the SIT issued notices to two ambulance drivers from Belthangady, Jaleel Baba and Hameed, both social workers. The SIT questioned them about their role in transporting bodies linked to Unidentified Dead Body (UDR) cases to the mortuary. The drivers revealed that they transported bodies under the direction of local police and shared additional relevant details during the questioning. The SIT has documented all their statements.In a related development, Mahesh Shetty Timarodi, implicated in a case involving illegal arms storage, has applied for bail.
