Ramanagara: In connection with a case involving threats and extortion demands made to government officials under the guise of being a Lokayukta Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), Ijoor Police in Ramanagara have arrested the accused.The arrested individual, Murugappa, had contacted the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of Magadi, Surendra, claiming to be a Lokayukta officer and demanding money.also read : Aadhaar Card: Fee Waiver for Children's Biometric Updates..!
Following this, Surendra lodged a complaint at the Ijoor Police Station. Acting on the complaint, Ijoor Police conducted an operation and apprehended the accused in Kolhapur, Maharashtra.Murugappa has over 50 cases registered against him. The police seized three mobile phones and more than nine SIM cards from the accused. He had previously served as a police constable for eight years and worked in the Lokayukta for two years before being suspended. After his suspension, he made extortion through threats his profession.
