Hassan: A group of stray dogs attacked a teacher conducting a caste census survey in Belur taluk, injuring her and seven others who attempted to rescue her. The incident occurred when Chikkamma, a teacher from GHPS school, visited Navin's house for the survey. Chikkamma’s husband, Shivakumar, along with local youths Dharma, Prithvi, Sachin, and four others who tried to intervene, were also attacked and bitten by the dogs. Additionally, a 5-year-old boy, Kishan, who was playing nearby, was bitten. The incident has sparked fear among those conducting the caste census survey. Locals have demanded action to control stray dogs. Taluk Health Officer Dr. Rajesh confirmed that the victims are receiving rabies vaccinations and treatment. Police have registered a case and recorded the incident.
