A 21-year-old auto driver named Pavan has been arrested by Kothanur police for allegedly assaulting a woman who cancelled an Uber auto booking. The woman, from another state, had booked an auto through Uber on October 2. As the auto was delayed, she booked another auto and left. The woman shared details of the incident on her Instagram account. Responding to the post, the police contacted her and advised her to file a complaint. Although the driver messaged that he had arrived, the auto didn’t show up even after waiting for a long time. As it was nighttime, I got scared. So, I cancelled the booking and booked another auto to leave. I didn’t have the patience to wait that long, she stated in the complaint.Later, Pavan allegedly chased the auto the woman was traveling in, intercepted it, and questioned her for cancelling the booking. He reportedly abused her with derogatory words.
