Union Home Minister Amit Shah today commenced a three-day visit to Bihar ahead of the elections. During this tour, he is likely to conduct BJP organizational meetings, meet leaders from NDA alliance partners such as JD(U), LJP(RV), and others, and address several public rallies.
This visit aims to refine election strategies with the NDA's goal of winning 225 seats. News reports also indicate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold rallies in Bihar. Voting for Bihar's 243 assembly constituencies will be held in two phases the first phase on November 6 for 121 seats, and the second phase on November 11 for 122 seats.
Vote counting is scheduled for November 14, with the state's 7.43 crore voters set to participate. In terms of party activities, JD(U) and BJP are leading the charge. BJP has also released its list of 101 candidates for 101 seats, while LJP(RV) has secured 29 seats, Rashtriya Lok Morcha 6, and Hindustani Awam Morcha 6 seats. The absence of Muslim candidates in JD(U)'s first list has drawn criticism from opposition parties.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav is filing his nomination from Raghopur, and Jan Suraj Party's Prashant Kishor has announced he will not contest.
