In a significant statement amid the Bihar elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed speculation about whether Nitish Kumar would become Chief Minister again if the NDA alliance wins.

Speaking in an interview with a private channel, Amit Shah stated that the BJP and its allies will decide on the Chief Minister candidate after the elections.

Currently, we are contesting under his leadership. After the elections, all allies will sit together and choose their leader," Shah clarified.
Recalling the 2020 assembly elections, Shah noted that after the polls, Nitish Kumar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and insisted that the BJP should have the Chief Minister in Bihar, as the party had won more seats than his own.

When questioned about Nitish Kumar's frequent party switches, Shah defended him, saying he was with Congress for only 2.5 years.
