A serious allegation has surfaced that crores of rupees worth of furniture for the residential quarters and offices of the state's MLAs were purchased without following the tender process.

It has been reported that approximately ₹5.5 crores was spent on the purchase of a total of 750 furniture items, including single and double cots (beds) for the MLAs. The direct procurement of furniture, without adhering to procedures such as using the Central Government's GeM (Government e-Marketplace) portal or calling for a mandatory tender, has caused a massive controversy.
