BJP MLAs’ Opposition:

Bengaluru has 16 BJP MLAs but no JD(S) MLAs. BJP legislators fear that conceding a large number of wards to JD(S) could weaken their own presence in the city.

They worry that many of these wards could easily swing to Congress if BJP’s vote share gets divided or diluted. The success of the BJP-JD(S) alliance now hinges on how the BJP central leadership responds to JD(S)’s demand. Also Read: Multi-Crore Scam Hits Shivamogga-Bhadravathi Urban Development Authority; Contractors Allege '60% Commission'

If a mutually acceptable seat-sharing formula is not reached, the NDA’s fight against Congress in Bengaluru’s civic polls could become significantly tougher.
