Chikkamagaluru: As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) undergoes a nationwide reorganization of its party structure, the Karnataka State BJP has appointed new district presidents for the remaining organizational districts. Devaraj Shetty has been appointed as the new BJP District President for Chikkamagaluru.

In an interview with Insight Rush Media, Devaraj Shetty shared insights about his political journey and his goals and plans as the new district president.

With over 23 years of grassroots political experience, Shetty began his career in 2004 as the BJP Yuva Morcha President, later serving as General Secretary, and also held the post of Mandal President. He stated with pride that he is among the top five members in the BJP’s official member list and has always worked in line with the directions and suggestions from the state BJP leadership.

Shetty emphasized his long-standing commitment to strengthening booth-level party workers and organizational structure, stating that his appointment as district president is both an honor and a greater responsibility.

Speaking about central government schemes, he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, noting that the BJP government at the Centre has consistently designed people-centric welfare schemes for the past 11 years, and that the party has worked hard to ensure these schemes reach the underprivileged and needy citizens.

On the Congress-led Karnataka state government, Shetty remarked, “Scams are rampant in the Congress government. We have been continuously fighting against these irregularities, and it seems there is no end to the corruption under this administration.”

He also announced that on June 25, to mark 50 years since the Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi, the BJP will organize two awareness programs in Chikkamagaluru and surrounding areas under the banner “Dark Days of Emergency” to educate the public about the Congress party’s governance history.
