Vishwanath criticized Siddaramaiah’s inconsistent stance on including the Kuruba community in the Scheduled Tribes (ST) list, noting that the CM previously opposed their 350-km padyatra from Kaginele to Bengaluru to demand this inclusion. However, Siddaramaiah has now recommended their inclusion to the central government, bypassing the Registrar General of India (RGI), which Vishwanath alleges is a procedural misstep.

Vishwanath accused Siddaramaiah of using the Kuruba community as a political tool, warning that this move could jeopardize the leadership of the Kaginele Kanaka Gurupeeth seer. He cautioned, “Swamiji, you are neither Siddaramaiah’s foot soldier nor a Congress pawn.

Taking to the streets could lead to dire consequences.” Vishwanath further questioned why Siddaramaiah hesitated to raise the issue directly with the Prime Minister, emphasizing that the state government’s role is limited to making recommendations to the central government.New Caste Census in the State: 1.75 Lakh Teachers to Be Appointed... On the issue of reservations, Vishwanath condemned the disparity where political leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge and his family benefit from quotas while ordinary citizens are left wanting. Quoting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, he stressed that those who have benefited from reservations should relinquish them for others, declaring his own willingness to forego reservation benefits.

Vishwanath also welcomed the Karnataka High Court’s approval for Banu Mushtaq to inaugurate the Dasara Mahotsava, despite earlier opposition from some groups. He hailed the court’s decision as a positive development for the community and the festival.Caste Census Survey from September 22 to October 7: Information from Siddaramaiah on X
