In a significant administrative move, the Central Government has renamed key national offices, marking another step toward shedding remnants of the colonial era. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), which has now been shifted to a newly constructed complex, has been officially renamed "Seva Teerth".
Along similar lines, the official residence of the Delhi Lieutenant Governor previously known as the Raj Bhavan has been renamed and all the Raj Bhavans have been renamed 'Lok Bhavan'. Officials say these changes reflect an effort to reinforce India’s cultural identity and distance the nation from its colonial past.
This renaming follows earlier decisions by the Centre, including the renaming of Rajpath to “Kartavya Path”, symbolizing a shift toward duty-driven governance.
