Bidar: A massive "Foundation Stone Fight" broke out today between BJP and Congress leaders in Hipparagi village of Chitguppa taluk. Intense arguments erupted between Minister Eshwar Khandre and BJP MLA Siddu Patil regarding the construction of the Kittur Rani Chennamma Residential School, leading to high drama on the spot.

Background of the Incident

The conflict centers around the foundation stone laying ceremony for the new Kittur Rani Chennamma Residential School, which is being constructed at a cost of approximately ₹16.75 crore. MLA Siddu Patil had already officially performed the foundation stone ceremony for this project on February 9. However, Minister Eshwar Khandre intended to perform a second foundation stone ceremony for the same project today.

MLA Blocks Minister's Car

MLA Siddu Patil expressed fierce outrage over the move to re-launch a project for which the "Bhoomi Puja" (groundbreaking ceremony) had already been completed. The MLA and BJP workers blocked Minister Eshwar Khandre’s vehicle and shouted slogans against the state government. Condemning the Minister's actions, the BJP members vented their anger, calling it a "shameless government."

Tense Atmosphere at the Spot

The heated exchange of words between the Minister and the MLA created a tense atmosphere at the location. Observing that the situation was spiraling out of control, the police took MLA Siddu Patil into custody. The police restored order after removing the MLA from the protest site.

Overall, this tussle between the ruling and opposition parties over seeking credit for developmental work has become a major talking point in Bidar district.
